An Unpredictable Series

Tomorrow marks the first game of a most unpredictable World Series.  At the beginning of the season, the odds of either of these teams even making a postseason appearance was incredibly low.  Even when the teams made the playoffs, they were written off by the powerhouse teams like that Yankees and Phillies.  Neither team was talked a lot about, and it probably played to their advantage.  Now, they are the only two teams we talk about.

With Tim Lincecum and Cliff Lee taking the mound in game 1, it is destined to be a low scoring game.  In fact, I think both pitchers will be on top of the game, and have complete control of 'their stuff'.  The Rangers definitely maintain the advantage in the batters box though.  However, with such little experience on their side, I don't see the hitting playing as big of a factor.

I predict a game full of K's and defensive plays.  Tim Lincecum will out duel Cliff Lee, while recording 13 strikeouts and his second complete game of the postseason.  The Giants will have just enough hitting to edge the Rangers, 2-1.
